Tooth Restoration with Dental Crowns

If your smile has been made unappealing by chips, stains, and visible fillings, you probably feel self-conscious in social situations. Fortunately, Dr. Tom Drake is well-versed in a wide range of cosmetic dentistry applications.

Dental veneers are a popular method for restoring multiple unappealing teeth. However, there are times when one or two teeth might lack the sufficient enamel to anchor a veneer. In a situation like this, Dr. Drake will often recommend having all of the tooth enamel restored with a porcelain or porcelain fused to metal crown.

Dr. Drake Fee will start by forming an abutment by removing the majority of the enamel layer. This abutment will later serve to anchor your permanent crown in place.

Dr. Drake will then take an impression of the area, which will be sent to a dental lab, where the porcelain crown is made. A temporary crown will then be secured over the abutment to protect it.

When the crown comes back from the lab, Dr. Drake can cement it in place in one brief appointment.
